On the top floor of a Haussmannian building, facing the Seine and the Eiffel Tower.
It begins by stripping the space bare. Opening up the ceilings uncovers an exceptional height in the drawing room, from which emerge full round arches, while the entrance unfolds as a succession of stone vaults drawn from the Orangerie at Versailles.
In contrast, a bespoke tone — craie — runs from the walls to the furniture, lending the whole its depth, its warmth and its continuity. Marble accompanies the parquet laid on the diagonal, frames the walls at half height, forms a three-metre band about the fireplace, and continues into the kitchen and the bathroom.
True to my vision as an ensemblier, I conceived here a complete work, in which architecture, interior and furniture are drawn by a single hand. For the owners, more than a home — a place of retreat and serenity.
